Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, Bright Angel Point / Panoramic Picture

from $108.90
This view from Bright Angel Point, located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, provides a popular view of the tremendous uplift that has occurred over the past 5 billion years, leaving the North Rim 1,000 feet higher than the South Rim. While the Colorado River is credited with the corrosive force responsible for the one-mile depth of the Grand Canyon, the canyon on the right side of the photo, known as the Transept, was created during times of flash floods as the base is generally a dry gravel bed. Traversing the photo from left to right is Bright Angel Canyon and rising high above the canyon right of center in the background are three prominent peaks: Deva Temple, Brahma Temple and Zoroaster Temple.
