Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, Forest Canyon Overlook / Scenic Landscape Panoramic Picture
from $108.90
This panorama captures Circle Peaks from Forest Canyon Overlook in Rocky Mountain National Park on a crystal-clear day. This view, high above the trees, transports you to a land of extremes, an alpine tundra ecosystem with elevations of 11,000 to 11,500 feet. It is characterized by strong, frequent winds, cold temperatures and perennial plants that are dwarfed, yet their blossoms provide a delicate landscape of color. Many flowering plants of the tundra have built in defense mechanisms to guard against the wind and cold, including dense hairs on stems and leaves or red-colored pigments capable of converting sunlight into heat.
