Near the lake, on the left bank of the Limmat River, with its twin towers, is the Grossmunster Cathedral, which was completed in the 14th century. To the right of Grossmunster, across the river with its green steeple is Fraumunster, and to its right, with the largest clock in Europe, is St. Peter's, Zurich's oldest church. Zurich is Switzerland's most populous city.
