Santorini, Greece | Framed Panorama City Skyline Panoramic Skyline Picture SANT1
from $123.90
This panoramic photograph of Santorini was taken by James Blakeway. Santorini is a volcanic island of southeast Greece. It's located in the southern Cyclades Islands north of Crete in the Aegean Sea. The island is a favorite of tourists due to its sunny weather, picturesque seaside villages, and remains of ancient Minoan settlements. The island experienced a cataclysmic volcanic eruption around 1600 B.C. that demolished the center of the original island and created a 500-foot tsunami that devastated the north coast of Crete, 45 miles away. This eruption is popularly regarded as the most likely source for Plato's parable of Atlantis.
