Much of Munich was destroyed in World War II but most historic structures were rebuilt. Munich was host to the 1972 Olympics and each year hosts Oktoberfest, the worlds largest annual fair which is attended by more than 6 million people. All car traffic has been banned from Munich's central pedestrian zone, this place is made for walking. The rounded twin towers in the center of the photograph is the Frauenkirche.
