Bath, England, Avon River Panorama | Framed City Skyline Panoramic Picture BATH1
from $123.90
Photo text: "This panoramic photograph of Bath was taken by James Blakeway. Located in western England on the river Avon, Bath is known for its hot mineral springs and Georgian architecture. The Royal Crescent can be seen to the upper left. Centered is Bath Abby. To its right is the recently renovated Empire Hotel. In the 18th century, Bath became the most fashionable spa in England. The Romans discovered the hot springs in the 1st century A.D. and built elaborate bathhouses. Unable to explain this natural occurrence, they called this place Aquae Sulis, believing the magic waters were the work of both the Celtic goddess Sulis and the Roman goddess Minerva."
